What if you could touch, right in this moment, the support that you need to face these times of upheaval and uncertainty? What if you could find the strength you need by turning toward the painful emotions of fear, grief, sadness and frustration and meeting them with mindfulness, compassion and kindness? The energy of mindfulness can be cultivated by each of us, in each moment. The seed is already within us and practice helps us to remember our innate capacity for compassion and clear-seeing. Learning to do this in our daily lives is the medicine we need in these times.
This moment in history is a true invitation. One of the definitions of apocalypse is ‘a prophetic revelation’ and the Chinese character for ‘crisis’ is a combination of the characters for ‘danger’ and ‘opportunity.’ In other words, alongside the collective suffering of this time, there is a great opportunity for a change in consciousness.
We invite you to join us in extraordinary conversations for extraordinary times. In the 28 interviews in the upcoming Mindfulness and Meditation Summit, we will learn that we were made for these times and that by activating the power of mindfulness within, we can meet this moment with courage, joy and grace.
Our guests in the summit represent the true diversity of leaders in the meditation and mindfulness movement at a time when we will need ALL of our voices represented and ALL of our medicine to cultivate change as a species. We are all in this together and these conversations underscore our unity rather than feeding the divisiveness and fear growing stronger in our public discourse. We need each other, especially right now, and these teachers will show us how we can tap into our collective wisdom and power.
It’s easier than we think, to wake up together, and to use this pandemic to inspire our awakening. The accessible and ancient practices and tools offer us medicine for personal and collective transformation and help us to remember the qualities which are already within us, of love, resilience, grace, courage, care, and relational intelligence.
We see the real power of this summit in the diversity of voices it represents. This summit is the meeting point of many edges, people of truly different backgrounds, from different generations, people bridging mindfulness practice with the fields of activism, science, cultural restoration, climate justice, wellness/healing and the arts. When we look to nature as our teacher, we see that the most profound medicine comes from the interface between different ecosystems. These edges, such as the meeting point between mountain and valley, mountain and valley, estuary and ocean, country and city, orchard and garden, are wildly productive and rich in life. There is a greater number of mutually beneficial relationships between the elements, and new possibilities and microclimates are birthed. We see this summit as an offering of new possibilities for human consciousness.
In this time when many are feeling lonely and wondering how to contribute to positive change, we invite you to come together in conscious community to affirm who we really are and who we can become together. It is up to each of us. Each one of us has a contribution to make.
